I would like to make you all aware of a new tool that is now in beta: The CDF Toolkit. The toolkit comes as a python package with a CLI tool, cdf-tk, and a set of templates that can be deployed to your CDF project to get started. This initial version is focused on Infield deployment, but can be used for any type of CDF project to manage your CDF configurations and resources as code. Head over to the beta group to check out the latest small demo videos we added and test it out!
Right before Christmas, we announced beta availability of the CDF Toolkit. Since then, many CDF project admins have started using the cdf-tk tool and the templates, both to deploy Infield and to manage their CDF projects overall. We are listening intently to feedback from real usage in projects and have the last two weeks released several updates to the beta. We are focusing bugs and robustness improvements, as well as anything that can lower the learning curve and simplify usage! To get the latest version of the tool, including the templates do:pip install --upgrade cognite-toolkitWe have recorded two short videos for you to demonstrate what the tool can do:A 10 minute demo of what the tool can do and A 10 minute technical deep-dive on how it works.Enjoy! And we would love to get more beta users!
We are pleased to announce the beta availability of the Cognite Data Fusion Toolkit for project configuration management from the command line and DevOps pipelines. The toolkit comes bundled with validated project templates that can be installed in your CDF project. The main template for the beta version is an out of the box configuration for Infield 2.0 and Asset Performance Management use cases. It is also useful as a starting point for many other use cases, as it is configures an asset pipeline to ingest asset data from an asset source system into CDF’s classic asset hierarchy as well as into the new data modelling store. The template comes bundled with the Asset Performance Management data models used by Infield, as well as the necessary access control and other CDF configurations necessary for a default single-location deployment of Infield. You can also choose to install sample data that will give you a fully working Infield 2.0 out of the box starting from an empty project! The to
