A team concept is missing in CDFWe are working with data in our organization aligned with the data mesh principles:- Data as a product- Domain-oriented ownership of data- Self-service data platform- Decentralized data governanceCurrently the setup for access management in CDF does not support this functionality. A team should be able to create, edit and delete datasets, and data associated with their datasets (e.g., assets, events, sequences). With the current solution an admin with group:write and dataset:write access needs to create a dataset and create new groups for service accounts/user accounts and add capabilities to read/write resource types within the dataset. We are thus not able to provide a solution which is self-serviced to teams within our organization where they freely control their data and access to it.
Is it possible to delete a data set in CDF?I cannot see any functionality to delete a data set in CDF, either from Fusion, the Python SDK (“This functionality is not yet available in the API.”), or in the API documentation.I can only see a functionality to archive it. Kind regards,Anders Willersrud, Statnett
As discussed in both the name and the description needs to be filled when changing a name of a dataset. If not the error from the API is displayed, which might not be easy for end-users to undertand. Suggestion: Do a check in the frontend on the input that both Name and Description is filled.
Currently the setup for inserting and reviewing OIDC credentials is confusing in Fusion. At the first setup a suggestion for Scopes, Token Uri and CDF Project name is suggested. When the Client ID and Client Secret is filled in and the credentials are saved, all fields are cleared on the next visit on this config site. Furthermore, it is confusing that the Manifest CLI file does not include this config. Also, the example file here is not in sync with the documentation and does not seem to work without reformatting. Suggestion: All fields are filled except Client Secret which has **** indicating that it is set.
We are currently migrating to OIDC where we need to give access through access groups linked to Azure AD.On our Statnett cluster it seems that a user needs to explicitly be member of a group “transformations” in order to to delete (or edit) a transformation. The admin group has the capabilities (on “test”) {'transformationsAcl': {'actions': ['READ', 'WRITE'], 'scope': {'all': {}}}}]But we need to login to the legacy login without OIDC and have a service account linked explicitly to the group “transformations” in order to delete a transformation. The group “transformations” has no capabilities set.I have tried both Fusion and the API/python-SDK (read is possible):CogniteAPIError: Transformation not found. This may also be due to insufficient access rights. | code: 403 | X-Request-ID: b7c0beb6-d3e0-9ec4-ba50-895533ac1996
We would like to change a name of our dataset in Fusion (specifically data set id=7661001648160088 on statnett, test), but get the error message [ { "status": 400, "message": "Either set must be populated or setNull must be true." }]` The dataset has related timeseries and asssets. What does it mean that the dataset must be populated? And what are we missing?
