Dear community,

I am newly using Cognite Hub, but in my role Digitalization Program Owner & Advisor for Global Production within OMV Upstream/Energy I am working with Cognite for ~4 years meanwhile - in the area of CDF but mainly also in various joint product development projects.

As we got informed about some changes regarding how our collaboration will look like next year, by @Ashutosh Kumar , @Cathrine Horn Stenstadvold  and their teams, I am curious how other clients, esp. of Maintain, are seeing this change to come - specifically related in the area of mid-/long-term product roadmap, active input in product user-stories, integration of the app in customer-owned workflows, user engagement experiences, etc.

Engagement sessions like User Advisory Boards to come, as I understand, I wanted to start alignment already now - especially also with other clients of Cognite. Hoping some of you are also part in this discussion forum. Aim of this topic here in the forum, would be better understanding of potential joint customer engagement for maturing the existing product.

Happy to connect with you on this topic.

what changes are you expecting? do you see that Cognite is moving away from customer centric product development?

Thanks, @ibrahim.alsyed for your feedback. I understand this product-centric view will even further intensify. As we did a lot of Co-Dev with Cognite the recent years, for us this will be kind of change. My interest for now is mainly to understand how others are interacting with Cognite using the Cognite Hub.

What products have you co-created with Cognite? they do not have many in their ecosystem yet.

see below in a nutshell only, but all based on solid data integration on-top of CDF:

Cognite Remote based: iSite (future-oriented Inspection & Maintenance workflows)

Cognite Maintain based: Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) - focusing on operational scheduling for now, but further plans for the next years

Cognite Best-Day: Smart Production Deferment Management

Cognite CDF enrichments, where parts ended up in the CDF product

And some more bespoke apps, also on top of CDF.

I saw you raised also topics like CDF/SAP CDF/Microsoft interfaces - also a topic for us.

@Christoph was acting in most of these projects as IT Project/Product Manager on OMV side. He would know more details on the single topics, which should end up in future in the Cognite Hub, I guess.

Did Isite make it to product? I have not seen. that would be interesting.

The product is Cognite Remote, which we enriched with Cognite for these inspection/maintenance use cases.

Welcome to Cognite Hub @Dietmar Kauscheder, and great to see that you are already interacting with the community and @ibrahim.alsyed!

Cognite as a product company has had different ways of working with customers to gather insights and input for our roadmaps, and as our customer base grows we would like to adjust the processes to be more scalable and impactful both for our customers and for us. Some activities that we are planning to set up in H1 to align with our users are:

  1. User advisory board (name to be decided): A meetup for end user/ super users from selected customers where the product team will show what has been delivered in the previous cycle, go through the roadmap for the upcoming cycles and get feedback and input on priorities.

  2. Cognite Hub - Product Ideas to be used by end users to request new features and/ or to post a new product idea. Users can upvote features of value to them, and this will provide good insight for the product teams prioritization process. The status of the idea will at all times be reflected in Hub and be reflected in the product roadmap that we regularly share from Hub.

  3. When applicable, beta groups will be set up on Cognite Hub for super users to test new larger features in Beta and provide feedback on the capability before it's launched.

In addition to this we will of course continue to do user interviews throughout the development process.

@Dietmar Kauscheder , I´m looking forward to continuing the dialogue with you in Q1, and also do a retrospective on the new process early Q3.

Thanks, @Cathrine Horn Stenstadvold.

Does this mean, the Cognite Hub should/could not be used for customer2customer discussions? I thought that is also in the interest of Cognite to see such alignments also openly, but maybe I am wrong here. In my opinion this goes beyond single features. - maybe we can elaborate that in the first UAB too?

Yes, Cognite Hub should be used for open community discussions and feature requests, you have understood it correctly. I was just mentioning the structured setup that will be led by Cognite.
