Search on data explorer

I want to search for the exact external id or name in CDF Data Explorer. Many CDF resources in my project with similar names/prefixes, so the search is often difficult and returns no results.

As a data engineer, I usually have the exact tag of the resource I want, and I do not necessarily want to explore the data. Without this feature, I need to use the SDK/API/Transformations. 

Or being able to search for a suffix and not a prefix should be made easier

In our next product release we will have a new feature that will help you identify the search results with exact match, partial match or fuzzy match. And for June release will add a configuration option where you will be able to select if you want to run search with only exact match. 

In the current Data Explorer still you should get the results with exact match at the top of the search result table. 
Could you please share an example when this doesn’t happen?

Hi @Andreea Pastinaru , I have noticed this in the case where the external id I am hoping to exactly match on is also a prefix of many other external ids (say 100+). 

 

For example, if I hope to find an asset with external id WELL_, but I have many other assets with external ids where WELL_ is a prefix, I have difficulties finding the WELL_ asset in Fusion.
