As data manager I’d like to be able to monitor the usage of different data sets and even individual resources in CDF. This would provide valuable information on the importance of the different resources in CDF, and be useful in planning further development of our data products.
One solution would be to include a counter on read operations per data set / resource.

I’m adding this to our tracking system, and thus ensure it will be evaluated for possible inclusion in a future release.
