Maintain 2.0: Attaching Non-Contextualized Files

On behalf of Celanese Maintain super users:

I would like the ability to attach non-contextualized files/documents to my canvas in Maintain. Currently, Maintain only has the ability to attach documents that exist in CDF and have been contextualized to an asset. There are often cases where, in addition to your standard documentation (P&ID for example), supporting files/documents need to be assigned to a work order such as material quotations, images/videos, and PM paperwork (equipment inspection forms) that would not be available in CDF.

@Marius Biermann

Thanks @crgomez13! Would any of these documents be interesting to contextualise for future use?

We want to make the most of a reusable data model by organizing relevant data for reuse. However, I also recognize the need to occasionally add things on the fly.

@Marius Biermann I think it would be great if these files could at the very least be contextualized to the work orders.

Yeah, makes sense. Some of these files you might get through having access to attachments on work orders and notification. For the once you don’t, uploading these to a canvas or canvases and linking these canvases to work order is currently in scope. You think this could be a feasible solution to start?

@Marius Biermann would then canvases then be searchable in CDF via the linked work orders and/or assets? Or would they only be available through Maintain?
