Cognite InField 2.0: Ability to add line items that do not require a state

On behalf of Celanese InField super users:

When building a template in InField, I would like the ability to create a line item that does not require a state (Ok, Not Ok, etc...). In most checklists, there is usually line items for reference or to supplement any findings. Most commonly, these can be open dialogue boxes requesting additional comments or to provide information on any generated notifications/work orders. However, these items are not required to be filled in order to complete the checklist and should not count towards the overall completion progress. Currently, these items are still added to the checklists but require users to mark as “N/A” when not needed in order to consider the checklist as complete and submit for approval.

Hi @crgomez13 - thanks for this feedback.

This sounds very interesting.

In most checklists, there is usually line items for reference or to supplement any findings. Most commonly, these can be open dialogue boxes requesting additional comments or to provide information on any generated notifications/work orders. One question, is there a reason why the “note” section on a task can’t be used to support this need? This one is really designed to “comment/supplement” on the findings.

In addition to this, we are currently working on something called “task conditions”. In the first version of this you’ll be able to add a free-text message to the operator in the field if the task condition is “not ok”. The idea here is to enable the operator to take the correct action directly in the field, e.g. “create a notification”. Is this something that will support your use case here? (cc @Meg Ong )

Thanks!
