InField: Checklist from selected Work Orders

Related products: InField

Hello,

One of the members on our team had an idea about generating a checklist based off of selected work orders from the “Work Plan” section. Currently you can turn the objects from a work order into a checklist in InField, however there isn’t a good way to aggregate all your days tasks into a checklist. It would be great if from the Work Plan view you would select which work orders make up your day and turn that into a checklist so that you can go completing the checklist as the activity is complete throughout the day rather than keeping a separate notebook or log of what work has been completed. Not sure if this is already available, but if so I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

Hi @rmaidla,

Thank you for this product idea!

The responsible PM - @Kristoffer Knudsen -  is reviewing the information you supplied. We track ideas and insights internally, but you should expect us to update this this Hub post as well.

Hi @rmaidla ! Sorry for the late response here, but thanks for providing these insights.

You are correct. This exact scenario is not possible in the product today.

Today, you are able to find all Work Orders within a given day, week, month or date, see the related details, objects/Assets and work operations, and then create a Checklist based on the Work Operations. In order to quickly find the Work Orders relevant for you we are looking to add some way to either filter on your discipline/work center + basic start date, work plan, revisions, etc.

In the new version of InField there is an overview page to follow the progress of all Work Orders/Checklists that are happening throughout the day.

One question on this: We have been discussing surfacing the Work Operations to a larger extent, as we’ve seen that a user (e.g. a technician) mainly cares about which Work Operations they are supposed to do during a shift, which will span across different Work Orders potentially. When you say “...work orders make up your day...”, is this the scenario you are referring to? or are you actually referring to having one Checklists with multiple work orders, and all their underlying work operations?

Thanks!
