Many Cognite charts users expressed interest in having the flexibility to add/store/organize Cognite charts in folders.
Infield Users (especially approvers and team leaders) want to see date/time stamp information for completed checklists with Infield 2.0. With Infield 1.0 the released checklists have date attached in the file name, which was helpful. Can we add this detail for Infield 2.0 too?
Several users of Infield 2.0 want an easier way to create an observation from the observations tab in Infield 2.0 (by means of a create observation button), in addition to the current ability to create an observation from the + button in checklist.
In use cases where CDF is being rolled out with multiple data sources for a number of operating locations, there is a need for better extractor health and diagnostics monitoring for e.g. like a heat map. Having the functionality where admin/support personnel for different sites can quickly identify the root cause of data issues in CDF would be of benefit. Users should have a GUI display in CDF, where they are able to quickly identify a data issue, drill down and generate the list of extractor error messages and alerts, in a chronological order based on user selected/configurable choices of operating sites, set of data sources/extractors etc. etc.
CDF administrators need ability to audit all the modifications done to the projects, based on a selected time interval (for any time in the past). Auditing should be exhaustive enough to capture any and all details relevant to modifications done to the project, updates to user groups etc. The audit log should provide sufficient details on who made the modification, when the change was made, how the change was performed, location details of the user etc. etc. Auditing feature should also include the ability to track what data is being downloaded by end users from CDF, how often, amount and nature of data being downloaded per user, site, location etc. Auditing feature is of high importance to Celanese and as it has came up in discussions multiple times since the beginning of this year, we would like to see this added to the CDF roadmap in the very near future. @Hunter Beck @piya dey @ibrahim.alsyed
Users would like the ability to Export to Excel and so want to see an export to excel button from the Activities List/tab in Maintain
Template administrators require the ability to backup (export) their templates, save them somewhere (may be as a file in CDF for later use) and be able to re-import that template in future if required. This will help administrators not having to re-create the templates from scratch, in the event that a template gets corrupt for any reason.
Hi In the current Cognite Infield desktop version, is there a limit on the number of characters for the synthetic tag names, before it displays “….” at the end? If so, what is the limit? We didn’t observe this in the mobile version, which seems to display full tag names that are longer than 40 characters completely (Some of our tags are ~40-50 characters long). But were curious with the desktop version, when the synthetic tags go “...” at the end and seems to hit a limit? Also, assuming this wouldn’t be a case in Infield 2.0, where there is a lot of expected improvement in space/layout. Thanks
3D files and point cloud files should should be organized under separate sections All names within the 3D models and Point clouds should be alphabetically sorted. The Icon/symbol to indicate a 3D model and point clouds under CDF - 3D section should be different for easier file identification. 3D tab should be re-named to better represent that point clouds are also under the same tab (Are there more file types coming under this tab in the future, if so naming should be generic?)
CDF should have different home screen when a Read Only User logs in and when a user with Administrator privilege's logs in (with R/W access). Content on CDF home screen after logon, should load based on the user privilege's. What each user has access to needs to be configurable by the Administrators. Only Read/Write users (and administrators) should see the full set of options in CDF. Where as a Read Only user should only see the specific functionality tabs assigned to them, like “Explore Data”, “Charts” etc. Each project should have the ability to configure the default set for Read Only Users and then Administrators should be able to add/remove access to different functionalities, as determined by the organizations data management policies.
Question from an end user:What is the best way to calculate the percentage of good values for a time series over a year using Cognite Charts? I have a list of PSVs in various units that I need to see if we have data availability of at least 95% in 2022.
A work order is considered as closed if System Status Contains CLSD or TECO (Technically completed), regardless of user status (PLND or other). Please base your Asset home screen filtering on System Status to show open work orders (remove work orders with CLSD or TECO system status), instead of user status.
Is it possible to configure in Cognite tools (like CDF & Cognite Infield) to send an email with the information on the user (to designate admin(s)), when a user trying to access the tools is restricted access to those tools, for not being part of the right security groups? Question posted on behalf of Celanese user access administrator.
Cognite Infield offline mode should allow for manual entry of date/time stamp. At present it seems to take the timestamp of when the connection is back online. Which may result in multiple values for the same time stamp especially if the network connectivity is lost for longer than the checklist usage frequency.
InField offline mode does not allow for numerical measurements to be saved. This can be an issue for the operating units if they have a network outage and are in the middle of completing their round. Unfortunately, "measurement readings" become disabled when connection is lost. The reason for this could be hat "measurement readings" are Data Points. InField writes to a Time Series in Cognite Data Fusion, and writing to CDF is not possible without internet connection.Without being able to save readings in offline mode will create additional work to ensure compliance with ISO in tracking readings. This is considered a blocker for adoption in one or more of our operating units.
When Operators fill check-lists and submit them for approval, there doesn’t seem to be any prompt/final check before submitting an Incomplete check list (A checklist where some of the items may have been left blank, un-intentionally). There should be a pop up upon pressing submit for approval, when incomplete items exist on a checklist, to press ok to move forward and submit the checklist for approval or press cancel to return to complete the remaining items, prior to submission for approval
@Kristoffer Knudsen In Cognite Infield, It appears that once the checklists are archived, there is a default time period of 3 weeks before they are permanently deleted based on what we see after archiving a checklist (release notes from Jan 2022 seem to show 4 week keep period). Some operating units have longer or shorter retention policy for their checklists, after archival and it would help to have this retention time period configurable. Based on a quick scan of current Infield configuration parameters, it didn’t appear to be a configurable parameter for now, under the Infield configuration items in CDF. Need clarification on this.
