It is important that the operators are able to write back to SAP from the field during operator rounds or checklists.
We need the ability to create a default configured view on CDF because the default views are not really helpful for domain experts. The new release allows us to configure our personal views but we need to have a default for Celanese that we can configure for all to have a starting point. This view that CDF has not a good starting view. we need Name, Description, Document Type etc. This is high priority.
I would like to please match the cognite tabs here to the right SAP fields. Can we include more tabs such as components, objects, cost, operations? We have the data coming but it needs to be organized in the black rectange. so in SAP, we have the following headers so Objects is where - we should have object list as below (not components which we are showing?) Next question: How do we tie a checklist to the work order? should that be on operations tab or should that be on Objects? Food for thoughthow do i automatically assign a checklist to the work order? can contextualization do that?
We need the ability for CDF to function and support Domain Experts in a way that they can pull and visualize data without having to understand how data is connected or transformed in CDF. The UI needs to be seamless such as infield, it is intuitive there is nothing to be learnt or understood in that app. We need to seggregate Data Engineer view from Domain Expert. Here are the list of issues:As a domain SME or expert, I do not not need to know these things: Internal, External, Created time, updated time. I expect it to be current, latest and i want to view information. When i click Data Set, I see this mess. Is there not a better way to organize data sets that does not require naming convention and how things are getting organized. We should not need to see or understand all of the above. I see many different data sets from Bentley, many different PI etc. Is there a better way to organize and view this? Why do I need to see Cognite Markups, annotations and also scans in events…can w
It will be very beneficial to leverage OPEN AI and CHATGPT to provide searching, insights on data from CDF
I am following up on the ability to view native files such as DWG and DGN in Cognite? We were promised that this will be enabled at some point.
We should be able to run queries in Cognite remote to visualize:Risk Visualization: Higlight all safety critical equipment that are out of service in a 3D model and color code it Identify all work orders on a 3D model highlighted by Equipment or Location Thank you
We need the ability to publish and view dashboards within CDF. I have seen videos of this in Cognite demos but unable to do this in reality.
This is fundamental that when i am searching a tag in Remote e.g. HE1300 or V32401, i should be able to get all my time series data associated to that tag in the Infield view. Currently, only direct links are shown in the infield app, so if i really want to search a time series, i actually have to query the instrument tag itself. That is not value adding and defeats the contextualization and relationship achieved in CDF. This is really important to get fixed.
Mismatch of measurement units, InField only does readings in inches, but some items are in feet. The Operator has to calculate on their phone before entering into InFieldI recommend a combination of ft and inches
I highly recommend to create a workspace where infographics or symbols can be created where time series value can be dragged or pasted on top of it. Ability to allow users to create their diagrams or sketches or pasting infographic from somewhere else and then manually putting tag LIVE readings wherever we want will be a very beneficial use case.Digital Twin is all about improving collaboration.
Provide ability to view 360 Photogrammetry in Infield during search
We need Cognite to provide a PowerBi conenctor that is not just a batch import to PowerBi but rather a LIVE POWERBI connection of data that provides instant updates do dashboards in near real time. This is CRITICAL request from CELANESE
It is becoming clear that Cognite UI/UX is not intuitive for a global scale of sites. How do I not create a laundry list of data sets in the drop down below for each sites? Is there a way to select sites and create a navigation to the right data view of that site and a global view...these challenges remain from a usability perspective. To be honest - CDF just feels like a data dump.
Current Observations:When joining multiple Tables (in Cognite Raw) the Transformation (query) is taking a very long time Cognite is advising that Cognite Raw is a “Key-Value” store that is not optimized for running queries with multiple joins And that, currently, it is not possible to index or partition data in Cognite Raw to support efficient querying of data Given these limitations: Cognite Raw is not an ideal solution to store unfiltered data from source systems, in its original state Cognite Raw therefore should not be considered as equivalent to a Data or Delta Lake “Raw Zone” or “Bronze Layer” Other issues:It is not easy to debug or identify error conditions for long running transformation queries e.g., a long running query (with multiple joins, with say million records in few tables) can fail after ~10 hours if there are invalid node references all this after reading millions of records – only to fail with an error message that a node reference is invalid or that there is a du
This is a request for Cognite to make all of their applications Proxy Aware, allowing enterprise organizations to specify a proxy that will be used for all traffic.
We have an aggregation resolver, but we are unable with this resolver to group the data using the "Foreign key" for another object type as the group key. I think it would be a cool resource to suggest improvements to the tool in the future @Lucas Leocardo Araujo
It is very strange that Cognite Remote does not display hotspotted P&IDs.

We would need to save code in Jupyter notebook in CDF. I am unable to view the code if open on another browser or computer or share it with anyother user.
it is our intent that the PowerBi can be used as a real time visualization tool for many use cases including: Analytics on Compressor Efficiency Real time monitoring off Natural Gas Consumption in our methanol unit Work Order Wrench Time Optimization Shift Schedule and OT optimization The problem with PowerBi connector is that it currently treats CDF as a data source and then imports data on a scheduled basis. There is no federated connection available where data is not imported or duplicated. Microsoft has confirmed this issue lies with Cognite and not on their side. The current Powerbi connector forces an import and does data duplication in the Powerbi space. This method has two names, some call it Import Data, and some call it Scheduled Refresh. Both names explain the behavior of this method. With this method data from the source will be loaded into Power BI. Loading in Power BI means consuming memory and disk space. As long as you are developing Power BI on your machine with Power
CDF should allow tag aliasing so that we can have two different tags that are not exact matches still refer to the same entity in the data model Example from Adam G As we ingest more data sources, we’re running into issues where the same asset is now represented in multiple data systems – here’s an example: The same physical asset, let’s call it FV12345, would be represented in SAP as a maintenance asset, but also within the SIS system as a safety valve creating time series data. The SIS system is unique in the sense that it includes a mixture of tag names that may already exist and new ones. Is there a way for CDF to accomplish aliasing? Ideally CDF can meet two cases:Searching for FV12345 only yields one result that represents both systems No tag names are missing (FV12345 represents both the SAP tag name as well as the SIS tag name), i.e. a search for all SAP tags yields FV12345, as does a search for all SIS tags
This is an important functionality to allow searching OSI PI Tags by Assets and then also searching by asset hierarchy levels and rolling up all time series tag or going down a level to get all the time series tag
We need the ability to write back Basic Finish dates to SAP from Maintain
It is very difficult to search files in Cognite if you dont know the file name. For example, i wanted to search electrical classification drawing for a methanol unit in CDF. it was practically impossible to find it in CDF. Instead, I had to go to the source system → to find the unit methanol and then find the electical classification drawing under electrical drawing folder. There is no way in CDF to search by document classes and/or filter by unit to narrow the search in a few clicks. Also there is no way to isolate fuzzy searches so that i dont get random stuff.
