While Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate offer powerful automation capabilities, it's important to note potential limitations when dealing with bulk data. Concerns such as loading large datasets and managing data size could arise. To address this, leveraging Azure Functions emerges as a viable solution. By employing Azure Functions, we can precisely tailor the process of reading data from SharePoint and invoking CDF APIs for storage. While it may involve some coding efforts, this approach ensures a more customized and scalable solution, providing greater flexibility compared to the out-of-the-box options available with Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate for handling SharePoint-CDF integration.
I see, I was not aware of the limitations. But then coming to original question, I haven't tried with SharePoint as a source yet.
any reason why using Logic app for that? I believe we have a SharePoint extractor for this
Sorry for late response..but in this case then you need to modify the column on server and change the column type to 'String' and then connect to Power Bi..as mentioned in the documentation
When you are here , are you clicking Load or Transform:
Hi , Can you select the setting as shown below i.e. “Never detect column types..” and then try loading your CDF project table. While loading click on Transform and not Load and then try transforming the data types of this column to String.Just to let you know this error has been highlighted before and the recommended solution was as per documentation above to “ingest the values into CDF RAW as strings instead of numbers”
Hi, Hope we have clarified on the solution here .We have discussed the available options and identified the best-suited solution for your needs. I have provided all the necessary information and insights to ensure a clear understanding of the proposed approach. If you have any additional questions or require further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out
I see, the kind of feature you are looking for is not supported in Power Bi, but we very well support this in Charts today. Please let me know what time time you are available tomorrow and we can setup a call to demo that.
sure...it will be good if you can describe the issue before in details which gives me more time to prepare and discuss on possible solutions.
Events are associated with Assets. You will have Asset Id field in Events table which you can link with Assets table. The Assets and Timeseries table has one-many relationship already
We need a troubleshooting session. is it fine to invite you in a screen sharing session?
Not sure why you are receiving this. Is it just with you or with your colleagues as well? Can you publish the report in a new workspace and see if the settings are still disabled? Please remove the gateway what you have tried to installed, its not required.
Have you published this report and Are you the owner of the dataset? The owner should be able to schedule a refresh..there is no need of gateway to be installed.
If you have configured the permission you can, by calling the right POST/PUT cdf apis..
Have you tried Hierarchy Slicer Visual . here is the snap shot with Parent External ID and External ID in the fields section
Thats how the data model for Assets look like.. check for visual named “Tree” whiere you can provide the Parent external ids and the External Ids in the field section to view the hirerachy
Meanwhile @ibrahim.alsyed ..Is it possible for you to share the video which shows the embedded Power Bi dashboard? Would like to know what particular page the embedding option was shown. We have the option of adding Power Bi dashboard in the solution portal in the suite in the CDF .. (Not sure if you have seen that)
@rsiddha this is still in the roadmap but we don't have a definite time frame for this feature yet.
You meant the ability to embed your report?
This is the setup on how you can build a connector for CDF in Power Apps. You can certainly make it live by passing the timeseries/Asset/Events ID as a parameter to the URI and triggering the event URI by means of power automate/logic app or any other event driven tool.
Hi Ibrahim, we use the custom connector in power apps to build the connector for CDF. There is no standard connector for CDF yet in Powerapps. Here is the link how you can build a power app connector : https://hub.cognite.com/topic/show?tid=1253&fid=134. Hope this helps!
No, The Managed Grafana service is different from the one you mentioned above. In order to be able to install / uninstall / update plugins using plugin catalog, you must enable it via the plugin_admin_enabled flag in the configuration file. Before following the steps below, make sure you are logged in as a Grafana administrator. https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/v9.0/administration/plugin-management/also check the env-variable:- name: GF_INSTALL_PLUGINS value: "cognitedata-datasource 2.6.0"
This is an ongoing discussion with Microsoft to include custom connectors in their managed services..it's on the roadmap of Microsoft to include CDF connector in managed grafana services
Cant you have a 1-1 relation between generating unit and Schedule resource’s external Ids. You can move one of the many to one relationship with Relationships table.
Hi @Andreas Aandahl Ranje can you please clarify more in details (like with some table examples), Power Bi has got it own sets of limitation when creating relationships. With Cognite Data Fusion resource types (ie. assets and timeseries) you have Asset ID column to link between Asset and Timeseries.
