Hi Kylie, thanks for your input! Let me see if I understand you correctly. You have two points: one regarding the relative placement of the interaction elements, and one regarding setting a status automatically.Regarding the placements of the value field and the radio button, I agree with you that their order should be swapped around. I’m making a task on that in our task management system. As for the automatic setting of status depending on whether an entered value falls within or outside a predefined range, that makes sense and can be done, too. I’ll make a task for that as well.We really appreciate your input, but as we have to prioritize a number of needs against each other, I'm unfortunately not able to communicate a release date for these improvements right now. Also, I'd recommend you to share your ideas in Product Ideas in our community. This allows other community members to vote on your ideas, which increases the likelihood of us being able to prioritize your ideas sooner. Thanks
Thanks for your inputs, Kylie and Ibrahim! That kind of personalisation is something we have in our backlog. I’ll bump up that task so we can have a proper look in the not too distant future.
Hi Kylie, thanks for your input. I can certainly see the usefulness of this feature - let’s schedule this in for our next sync and discuss it in a bit more detail so we can get a common understanding of what this would look like.
That’s a great idea, @ibrahim.alsyed . We’ve discussed exploring this joining of forces previously, but wanted to wait until we had a specific customer case for it. Thanks for providing that! I want to ask you, how mature is this idea for you? On a scale where one is “that could be kind of cool” and ten is “this provides real value and we want to initiate a PoC” where does it sit for you?
InField has the capabilities for that @ibrahim.alsyed, and it’s in active use by a different customer. The reason you don’t find it in your tenant is because we haven’t straightened out all the kinks yet - there is an issue with file formats. (@Philippe Bettler or @Crystal Connor Richards might be able to give a fuller answer.) But rest assured, it’s in the pipeline for you as well.
Noted, Ibrahim. I’m talking with my robot colleague. Let us get back to you when we’ve discussed some possibilities!
@Erik Angelsen Can you shed some light on this?
Perhaps this level of technical detail is better discussed elsewhere, @ibrahim.alsyed. This is something which should go through our colleagues who are configuring InField and ingesting the data. If there are formats we don’t support it’s a ticket that should go into the backlog and be prioritised along with everything else. Let me follow up on this and get back to you.
Thanks for the input Crystal! I assume this is crowdsourced from the end users?
It’s possible to display excel files in InField, you just have to include the mime type in the configuration.
Hi Ibrahim, could you explain what you mean by “during search”?
This is, as you know, Ibrahim, thoroughly discussed between us and is something that we’ve made arrangements for. I guess you mention this for the benefit of any other parties that may have perspectives on this functionality.
Hi Satoshi-san, thanks for your input. It’s not currently on the roadmap, but I’m open to putting this feature in there if there is popular demand for it.
Hi Kylie, thanks for your idea! You might be pleased to hear you’re not the first to think of it, and it’s actually on the roadmap of Cognite Maintain. I’m not sure if it’s been given a date, but @Mari Sofie Korslund would be able to answer any questions.
Hi Kylie, thanks for your input. Yep, we’re aware of the issues you mention. We need to do some user research and tech analysis before we can sketch out a solution. I’ll be sure to tug your sleeve when we’re at that point. :)
Hi Ibrahim, I think we should set up a session together with our designer so that we can understand the use case better. I’ll send you an invite!
Hi Crystal, do you mean when you’re adding measurement readings in the templates?
An update for the benefit of any followers: Ibrahim, myself and a number of other participants discussed this feature. We agreed there is a need and will put the request in the backlog. A caveat: this issue will be subject to future analysis and the solution might take a different form than what is shown here. What we aim to do is solve for the underlying user need.
Hi Adam, thanks for bringing the importance of this to our attention. You’re not the first - we already have improved navigation as an item in our backlog. I’m unable to give you a timeline, but rest assured it will be addressed at some point.
Hi Ibrahim, thanks for your input. What is Lab data - is Lab a source system that you have?
Right ok. What’s the format of this data, is there any reason why it can’t be displayed as a document?
Great, everything in order then.
Thanks for your input Crystal! I see how that could be useful and it’s certainly an interesting feature. We will consider taking this further when time permits, and would be happy to discuss this with the person who reported the need.
Thanks Crystal! Yes, we’re aware of the need to manage checklists in a less manual manner. When we take full advantage of the CDF capabilities, this functionality will be made available. This is planned for Q1 2023.
Hi Crystal, that sounds like a good idea! We’ll make a note and have a look when the time is ripe. I hope your users out at Acid South will be willing to give some input at that point.
