How to load PI Asset Framework Event Frames?

Related products: Extractors

I’m investigating the Pi Asset Framework extractor. I see how to bring in assets and I think I see how to get time series data. However, I don’t see how to bring in event frames. I’m not an expert with Pi AF by any means, but it seems like these would map nicely to CDF events. What I don’t see is how to configure the extractor to bring in the event frames. Does it do this? What do I need in the config file to turn it on?

Is there additional documentation on the PI AF extractor beyond what’s available here https://docs.cognite.com/cdf/integration/guides/extraction/pi_af/pi_af_configuration?

Current the PI AF does not support event frames. However, we can accept this as a future request.

The PI event frames appear to be available in a SQL database. Has anyone used the SQL extractor to retrieve event frames from PI AF?

not sure where the value would be from SQL since the records in PI AF Events have properties that would be hard to get externally. I believe you need the PI Event Frame as it exists in the view from PI System Explorer for example. This would be even more true when the backend that generated the records in PI AF is an MES type system like Emerson DeltaV Batch Historian using the PI EMDVB Interface to generate the PI AF Event Frames.

This would provide S88 structures
