I’m creating a new chart “speed” by calculating the absolute values from “velocity” chart. This is one of the exersie from “Cognite Charts” training course. However,  the values generated from the “Absolute value” are not correct, for example, in the screenshot below, the vlaue of “Velocity” is -1.5074… but the value of “Speed” is 97.3128 .. instead of 1.5074...

Hello!

This does not look right. Let me try to re-create what is happening and get back to you.

If you want, you can also contact support and we might get access to your chart to troubleshoot directly.

All the best, Knut Vidvei

Try and merge the units i the y-axis, and zoom closer to the datapoint, because the graph is showing on aggregates when you are trying to view a wide time-range. but Zoom closer to get the actual values datapoints, that can cause this viewing phenomena.

Hi Wei,

Yes you are correct the speed values should be equal to the velocity except speed will be positive.

To confirm I tried the same and got the result as expected as shown in the above image. Kindly check your nodes, constants being used, and the units. Also zoom into the chart to have a closer look of the values. Please follow the steps as it is in the instructions.

Let us know if it does not work.

As suggested by @Stig Harald Gustavsen , I merged unit and zoomed in, and now the values look right. Thanks all for the help.
